How to Fix a Frozen Android Phone
Android frozen and won't respond? Force-restart it — hold Power, or Volume Down plus Power on Samsung. Here's how, plus what to do if it keeps freezing.
When an Android phone freezes and the screen ignores every tap, the fix is a forced restart using the hardware buttons. Force it to restart

If it won’t restart or is stuck on the logo
If nothing happens, plug it in and charge for 15 to 30 minutes, then force-restart again — a dead battery can look like a freeze. If it hangs on the boot logo or loops, boot into Recovery (Power + Volume Up on most phones) and choose Wipe cache partition, which clears temporary system files without deleting your photos or data. Right after a system update, give it 10 to 15 minutes first, since post-update optimization can look like a freeze.
When it keeps freezing
A phone that freezes repeatedly usually has one bad app or is low on storage. Restart in Safe Mode (hold Power, then long-press “Power off” and choose Safe mode) to disable downloaded apps; if the freezing stops there, uninstall the apps you added recently, newest first. If just one app hangs, force-stop it (Settings, Apps, the app, Force stop) and clear its cache rather than restarting the whole phone. Chronic freezing often overlaps with a slow phone and with apps that keep crashing; a phone that will not come back on at all is a different case, in a phone that won’t turn on.
A long press on the right buttons gets almost any frozen phone to reboot without losing data. If it becomes a habit, suspect a recent app or full storage before anything more drastic.
